In Episode Five of Ultimate Braai Master we head to the ‘Butchers Block’ as the ‘Braai Masters’ feed Matijiesfontein!
After getting an early morning butchery lesson in Cape Town, the ten remaining teams travel to the small Karoo town of Matjiesfontein.
The teams are split into two groups and each group is given a whole lamb.
The trick? They have to work and butcher the meat themselves and use as much of the lamb as possible to feed the 50 guests that are coming for dinner. With only 30 minutes to plan their entire menu of canapés, soup, main course and dessert, the heat is on, especially when it starts to rain.

When their guests arrive, the two teams only have 1-and-a-half hours to serve the entire menu, and they soon realise to make it in time they have to work as one group.
After a long day of travelling, braaiing and feeding 50 Matjiesfontein locals (that would be the whole town), three teams are sent into elimination round immediately.
The challenge? To cook the perfect lamb chop.
