Unusual flavour pairings, vanilla mash and beef marzipan?

Waitrose chats to MasterChef UK Winner Dhruv Baker, comedienne Sue Perkins and Chef Brian Turner about some unusual flavour pairings.

Dhruv goes with vanilla & savoury and highly recommends that you try vanilla mash… trust him.

While boiling the potatoes add some peppercorns, a couple of bay leaves and a vanilla pod. Mash as you would normally.

Sue once bizarrely tried tried marzipan and beef, admittedly alcohol assisted in the pairing while dour Brain does not do unusual flavour combinations except on trips to Mexico and he didn’t like them either!
