A Snoek Recipe with a traditional Apricot Basting.
Snoek is practically a staple in the Western Cape where commercial snoek fishermen head out to sea on a regular basis as they earn their living.
This is a very easy Snoek Braai Recipe to make with a simple apricot basting sauce.
|Lemons||2||juice of 1|
|Dry Chilli Flakes||1||teaspoon|
1 . Heat up the butter
2 . Saute the onion and thyme until soft and translucent
3 . Add the garlic, chilli flakes, apricot jam and lemon juice (1)
4 . Cook for 2 more minutes on a low heat
5 . Baste the butterflied snoek with the apricot basting sauce
6 . Braai for 2 minutes, turn and baste
7 . Repeat every couple minutes until the snoek is cooked through
Serve with a salad and lemon wedges.
