Babalwa Baartman presented the judges with a Stuffed Tenderised Steak with Garlic Mash Potatoes, Caramelised Carrots and Salted Green Beans Recipe
She got of to a flying start on MasterChef with every man’s favourite steak and potatoes. But she did this with a little class and a Parmesan concentrated pesto and cherry tomatoes.
We like this use of pesto with the meat, it is a whole lot better than the boring pepper or mushroom sauces which we have been plagued with on our steak for the past 100 years in South Africa. I don’t even want to mention the stupidly named monkey gland sauce but feel it would be wrong not to make my feelings know,
Babalwa also oozed confidence about her recipe as she rattled through the ingredients and method. Some neat little technical skills came into play too as she put her Stuffed Tenderised Steak with Garlic Mash Potatoes, Caramelised Carrots and Salted Green Beans Recipe
together for the judges.
She also has the cutest smile and giggle.
