A quick and easy Spicy Chicken Burger Braai Recipe with a great little Salsa to go with it.
This rub is a great way to learn how to mix together your own spices. Basically look at everything that’s on your spice rack and pick and choose stuff that looks like it will work well together

Spicy Chicken Burger Braai Recipe | Aussie Griller
Spicy Chicken Burger Braai Recipe with Avocado & Salsa,
Serving: 4 | Prep: 15 min | Cooking: 8 min
Ingredients:
Avocado | 1 | zest | |
Chicken Breast | 4 | ||
Cheese | |||
Tomatoes | 1 | ||
Jalapeno | few | ||
Onion | 1 | ||
Cayenne Pepper | 1 | tablespoon | |
Onion Powder | 1 | tablespoon | |
Garlic Powder | 1 | tablespoon | |
Paprika | 1 | tablespoon | |
Ground Cumin | 1 | tablespoon | |
Thyme | 1 | tablespoon | |
Tabasco | |||
Salt & Pepper |
Method:
For the salsa
1 . Chop and de-seed the tomato
2 . Chop the onion
3 . Slice up the pickled jalapeño
For the avocado
1 . Remove from the skin & stone
2 . Mush it up
3 . Add a drop of Tabasco
4 . Mix well
For the chicken rub
1 . Mix together the cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin & thyme, a tablespoon of cracked black pepper and 1 1/2 tablespoons of salt
2 . Flatten out the chicken breasts so that they are of even thickness
3 . Give them a good rub
Cooking:
1 . Cook the chicken breasts for about 4 minutes before turning, depending on the thickness.
2 . Cook for a couple more minutes
3 . Toast your buns
4 . Serve with the avocado, cheese & jalapeño salsa
On the braai:
1 . Use a grill pan on the braai and preheat it for 10 minutes to get it really hot
2 . Carefully place the green beans onto the grill pan and avoid the oil dripping onto the fire to prevent flare ups
3 . Cook for 5-7 minutes with the lid on turning occasionally
4 . Drizzle with a little lemon juice before serving
