Sticky Lemon Chicken is a very straightforward and easy recipe to prepare as Gordon Ramsay demonstrates in this video recipe.
We also get to see a Gordon Ramsay Mash Potato Recipe with chopped spring onions, milk & double thick cream. If you’d just like a straight up mash you can leave the spring onions out.

Sticky Lemon Chicken Recipe | Gordon Ramsay

Ingredients:
For the chicken | |||
Chicken | 1 | jointed | |
Salt & Pepper | |||
Olive Oil | 3 | tablespoons | |
Garlic | 1 | head | |
Thyme | few | sprigs | |
Sherry vinegar | a | splash | |
Soy Sauce | 2 | tablespoons | |
Honey | 3 | tablespoons | |
Lemon | 1 | sliced | |
Parsley | a | bunch | chopped |
For the Mash Potatoes | |||
Potatoes | 1 | kg | floury |
Salt & pepper | |||
Unsalted Butter | 30 | g | |
Spring Onions | 1 | bunch | chopped |
Double Thick Cream | 100 | ml | |
Milk | 100 | ml |
Method:
For the sticky chicken
1 . Joint the chicken if not already, about 8-10 pieces
2 . French the legs for them to cook quiker
3 . Heat up some oil in a frying pan
4 . Brown the chicken in the pan
5 . Season with salt & pepper
6 . Pour in the soy sauce, sherry vinegar and a little more olive oil
7 . Reduce a little
8 . Add the lemon slices and juice
9 . Pour in a little water, about a ladle
10 . Cook for 6-7 minutes
11 . Season with thyme or lemon thyme if you can get
12 . Drizzle with a some honey
13 . Taste and season
14 . Add some chopped flat leaf parsley
15 . Reduce slowly and allow to rest
For the mash potato recipe
1 . Chop the potatoes into small pieces, the smaller they are the quicker they cook
2 . Bring to the boil in a pot of water
3 . In a pan pour the cream, milk and season with salt & pepper
4 . Bring to the boil and then reduce to a paste like texture
5 . Drain and steam the potatoes off in the pot when ready
6 . Add the milk & cream
7 . Mash the potatoes
8 . Add the chopped spring onions
9 . Fold them in, don’t mash as you will bruise the spring onions
10 . Add a knob of butter and mix it all together
