Low and Slow Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket Braai Recipe

This is a kick back and relax Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket Braai Recipe.

You will need a day to prepare this brisket recipe on your braai and overnight to soak in the spices.

There really is not much too it while the most important thing to remember is to leave it alone while it is cooking. Each time you open the lid and let all the heat out you are adding about 15 minutes of cooking time.

Use your favourite beef rub and late in the cooking process a bbq sauce if you wish. It won’t really need it though.

Serving: 8 | Prep: 15 min | Cooking: 8 hrs

Ingredients:
Beef Brisket 3 kg’s
Spice Rub
Oak / Hickory or Mesquite Wood Chips

Method:

1 . Coat the Beef Brisket with your chosen spice
2 . Rest in the fridge overnight

For the braai
1 . Get the coals going and add the wood chips
2 . Place the beef brisket on the braai and cook with the lid on. Each time you lift the lid you add about 15 minutes braai time
3 . You will need about 8 hours cooking time
4 . For the last two hours of cooking wrap the brisket in tin foil
5 . Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature and how you like your meat
