Seared Tuna Steak Braai Recipe with Fennel | Aubrey Ngcungama

What would a special occasion be without Aubrey, this time with his Seared Tuna Steak Braai Recipe.

It’s light, quick and easy to make in the kitchen or on the braai.

Seared Tuna Steak Braai Recipe with Fennel | Aubrey Ngcungama

Serving: 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cooking: 5 min

Ingredients:
Tuna Steaks 4
Carrots 4
Fennel Bulbs 2
Green Pepper 2
Spring Onions 6
Ginger 1 tablespoon(s)
Grape Seed Oil 1 tablespoon(s)
Sake 2 tablespoon(s)
Limes 6
Fresh Coriander 3 tablespoon(s)
Chilli 1
Fennel Seeds
Salt & Pepper

Method:

1 . Julienne the carrots, fennel, green pepper
2 . Chop the spring onion
3 . Chop the garlic
4 . Chop the ginger
5 . Chop the chilli
6 . Chop the coriander
7 . Slice the limes into wedges
8 . Rub the tuna steaks with a little oil and season with salt & pepper

Cooking:
11 . Heat up some oil in a wok or pan
12 . Add the garlic & ginger
13 . Add the vegetables and cook, add a little water, for 5 minutes
14 . Add the chilli & spring onion
15 . Toss and remove from the heat.
16 . Heat up some oil in a griddle or frying pan
17 . When hot add the tuna steaks
18 . Cook for 1 minute before turning
19 . Cook for another minute
20 . Remove and allow to rest
21 . Pour some sake (or white wine) into the pan and de-glaze for about 30 seconds
22 . Squeeze in the juice of 2 limes
23 . Plate up and drizzle with the glaze
24 . Garnish with coriander & lime
