Nothing says “Happy Christmas” quite like a champagne cocktail … And alcohol is always a much needed requirements at family Christmas affairs … How else is anyone able to listen to mad Aunt Greba yabba on for half an hour, or more.
Freshly squeezed pomegranate juice is a bright, ruby red and is the perfect hint of sweet to a nice, dry bubbly. If you are struggling to find fresh pomegranates in your supermarket or local fruit & veg, you can of course substitute with boxed pomegranate juice, but nothing is as good as the ‘ergte ding.’
Another wicked alternative, is to add a little Campari, together with the champers (or a good South African sparkling wine) & splash of your favourite berry juice…
1 . Make sure the sparkling wine is well chilled.
2 . Squeeze the juice of 2 Pomegranates would should approximately be 100ml.
3 . Add the Champagne or a good South African sparkling wine to the Pomegranate juice.
4 . Serve in a champagne flute.
